About Us
It is a 100-year history that of the Giuseppe Di Maria Dye Works (GDM). Almost a century during which the company’s journey is intertwined with the history of Italy. Founded in 1925 in Sicily, GDM is now one of the most established paint, varnish and enamel companies in the national and European scene.
In its evolution, GDM has always maintained the same corporate philosophy focused on the quality of its products and continuous innovation. In particular, in the last five years the company has implemented the “quality system” according to European harmonizations. Providing daily inspection of all incoming raw materials, semi-finished and finished products is a team of eight technicians and two laboratory assistants. Another technician, follows the daily management of dust and volatile organic substance abatement systems as well as wastewater purification.
One of the strengths of the company, which guarantees the quality of all GDM products, is the approval of the products carried out by EEC-recognized bodies, and the current ISO 9000 reference standards, which enable the achievement of the ambitious goal of taking a leading role in such a technologically dynamic market as that of paint products.
GDM’s flagship is certainly the “Bisaten” range of anti-mold products, the only ones in Italy to issue a warranty certificate. The Bisaten line effectively sanitizes rooms from mold and moisture, factors that can seriously compromise human health.
GDM has always aimed for quality service. Thanks to the plant’s central warehouse, with more than 15,000 square meters used for main storage, the availability of the more than 200 products in various colors and sizes, developing more than 1,800 references, is always guaranteed. Deliveries are ensured daily through its own means of transportation, plus a line of private carriers scattered throughout Italy. In addition, at the end of the sale, the company always guarantees its intervention should the customer need it.
The expansion and renovation of the plant that took place in 2000, along with the modernization of all production facilities, has enabled GDM to project itself to an industrial nature throughout the country.
Production techniques of the push-pull type are affected by meticulous just-in-time management from the scrupulous selection in the purchase of raw materials to their processing, as well as the continuous replenishment of the central warehouse of finished products. Production, all GDM know-how is entirely manufactured at its own factories, and intended for construction, industry and DIY.
Central to GDM’s corporate policies is staff training and safety, production control and technological research. Special importance is also given to respecting the Environment through the use of the most suitable means such as “water purification”, “dust abatement”, “total recovery distillation of spent solvents” and many others.
The more than 2,000 dealers nationwide that GDM now counts among its clientele confirm that such philosophies have proven successful and are the best condition for optimizing their relationships.
